Alan Mantle

Alan Mantle was born in Barmouth in Wales 24 August 1952.

He was educated in Wales in Dolgellau and obtained an engineering degree at Rolls Royce. His high-school art teacher, Maldwyn Thomas, inspired in him the love of wood, and in later years his technician training gave him concentration and accuracy.

His passion for nature and trees quickly took the upper hand. Alan become pruner and forester alongside Ray Perry and managed a 50 hectare forest in Snowdonia National Park.

Art and Nature have become part of everyday life for Alan.
