Nick spent most of his childhood in the Aberdyfi area where he developed his passion for drawing and painting. After a two year foundation course at Chester School of Art he gained a first class BA (Hons) degree from Wolverhampton Polytechnic, then followed this with a Masters Degree in Design at Manchester Polytechnic.
Between 1983 and 2007 Nick worked in London as a designer, creating a wide range of commercial concepts for the retail and leisure industry including furniture, restaurants, hotels, pubs and shops, culminating in 6 years operating a successful design consultancy.
In 2007 he moved back to North Wales to focus on his art. He was also keen to support other local artists. Starting with the Aberdyfi Art Society and the Meirionnydd Artists Society, he was subsequently invited to join CRYD, a professional group of local artists. Nick was a founder member of The Dyfi Arts Guild, Machynlleth and is the joint owner of ArtWorks.
ABERDYFI from the air: Following on from Nick's popular Aberdyfi panorama paintings, he has created another dramatic view of Aberdyfi - this time from the air. Using Indian ink and watercolours, Nick has painstakingly detailed Aberdyfi as never seen before! The original artwork for this painting is 75x55 cms. The original has sold, but prints in a variety of sizes are available.
Nick's earlier work including his Aberdyfi collections can be viewed on his website - click here to visit.

A new collection of acrylic paintings on board, with black-grained floating frames. It's work in progress, so more paintings will be added as they are finished.
This collection of paintings depicts Welsh farms as Nick remembers them from his childhood in the 60's and 70's. With rusty gates, ramshackled corrugated iron barns and crumbling walls, Nick paints a nostalgic picture of a bygone era of farming in Meirionydd. All the originals have been sold, but limited edition prints are available.
