Richard Owen

Richard is a local artist originally born in Anglesey, North Wales who has been working and exhibiting for the past five years. He has shown in his work in Wales and England and often produces land and coastal sea-scapes.

Richard works mainly in oils on canvas, sometimes on wood. He loves the versatility of oil paints: adjusting colour and effect using various medium. He paints mainly with brushes and palette knives and enjoys creating works of various sizes.

In creating his art, Richard is moved by the Welsh landscape and the coast line of the British Isles and the myths and stories that can inspire and move us all. He likens is his work as an interpretation of his experience with an invitation to yours. They include stories in the paint strokes and he encourages the viewer to see their own story there too. His art is animated by that spirit of meaning and belonging that belongs to us all. There are messages in the land and in the skies, can you see them?
