Jane Elinor MA

Jane is a bilingual visual artist and educator; originally from Harlech, she now lives in Llanfihangel y Pennant. Jane has studied, lived and worked in different parts of England, and France, before returning to live in South Gwynedd, where she has her own studio. As well as creating her own work she enjoys delivering workshops and classes to a whole range of individuals which stems from teaching in secondary, further and higher education. Educated to Master’s level, her main specialism is painting, but she also works in and experiments with different techniques, including printmaking, mixed media and textiles.

Jane’s key concept is to experiment through various sources of inspiration, so that her work is a reflection of, and meditation on Wales, the ocean and environment, the figure, still life and current and contemporary issues. Jane also enjoys mixing quirky ideas, some of them in a creative and humorous way!

Jane has exhibited her work in various locations, and in recent years these include the Royal Cambrian Academy, CARN Caernarfon, Oriel Môn, School of Art Aberystwyth, Plas Brondanw, Mid Wales Arts Centre, RBSA Birmingham, Elysium Swansea, Oriel Q Narberth, MOMA, Storiel and Pontio Bangor, and in galleries in New Zealand and Australia. She has also undertaken private commissions, as well as for Gwynedd Council.
